About the program

The 1,000-hour cosmetology program at Stylez & Kutz combines classroom instruction with hands-on training in haircutting, styling, coloring, chemical services, skin care and nail care.

Training takes place at the Victory Boulevard campus in Portsmouth, with daytime and evening study options. The course prepares students for Virginia licensing examinations.

What you get

To earn the school’s certificate, complete the required hours and practical/theory work, pass the required final written and practical examinations, and meet the school’s financial requirements.

The certificate is a school qualification that prepares you to apply for the state licensing examination. Completing training is not the same as receiving a professional license.
