Alberta, Virginia
Christanna Campus offers a one-year cosmetology certificate for adult learners, combining classroom theory with hands-on hair, skin and nail training. The course runs through fall, spring and summer and requires 30 college credits. College credits are distinct from clock hours. Training also covers sanitation, safety, professional development and client relations.
You work toward the Cosmetology License Preparation Career Studies Certificate, a college award rather than a professional license.
Adult daytime theory and practical classes are at Christanna Campus in Alberta. Adult evening and dual-enrollment classes are at Estes Community Center in Chase City, a separate teaching location.
