About the program

The 1,500-hour cosmetology course combines hair, skin and nail training with supervised client services. It leads to a school diploma and prepares graduates for Tennessee’s licensing examinations.

What you get

A diploma requires the 1,500-hour course, a passing school final, at least 70% in theory and satisfactory practical work. Training hours are not released for certification while a balance is owed. Graduates then apply for licensing examinations; examination and licence fees are separate.

Schedules & start dates

Classes meet Tuesday–Thursday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM and Friday from 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM. The course plan uses 30 clock hours per week over 50 instructional weeks, with completion expected within 14 months. Up to 300 hours of online coursework may supplement campus instruction for leave or school closures.
