Central Piedmont’s two-year Associate in Applied Science in Cosmetology is taught in person at Harris Campus. Classroom instruction and supervised work with salon clients cover hair design, chemical services, skin and nail care, safety and business skills.
The degree requires 70 college credits, including general education and business coursework. College credits are not the same as practical training clock hours. The college also offers separate diploma, certificate and short-term routes with their own requirements.
Completing this route earns the Associate in Applied Science Degree in Cosmetology. Progression requires a C or better in general-education, major and related courses.
The program prepares graduates for the State Board of Cosmetic Arts examination. The college degree is not itself a professional license; licensing includes passing the board examination.

Price unavailable
Tuition is charged by the credit hour: $76 for North Carolina residents or $268 for nonresidents, with semester tuition caps of $1,216 and $4,288 respectively. Your total also depends on the courses taken each term, required fees and program materials.
The $27-per-credit IncludEd materials charge can be opted out of; that does not remove the need for course materials. Financial-aid cost-of-attendance budgets include living and other expenses and are not a quoted price for this cosmetology degree.
