About the program

GCIT combines a four-year cosmetology pathway with high-school academic classes. Training covers hair, skin and nail services, safety, sanitation and professional skills. Students gain clinical experience in the on-campus hair salon, with senior-year preparation for the state licensing exam.

What you get

You work toward a high school diploma by completing the school’s academic, attendance and career-program requirements. Senior cosmetology training includes licensing-exam preparation and OSHA 10; the school also lists a Hair Extension Certification.

A professional license is separate from the diploma. You must meet the Board’s licensing requirements and complete its examination process.
