Helena College's Cosmetology AAS is a 1,500-hour, in-person program covering hair, skin, nails, chemical services, salon management, and science. The degree is designed to be completed in four semesters over 15 months after program acceptance. The five general-education prerequisites come before this four-semester sequence.
Students who successfully complete the program earn an Associate of Applied Science in Cosmetology. The program prepares graduates for the Montana Board of Barbers and Cosmetologists cosmetology licensure examination.
Your attendance pattern changes after the first semester. In semesters 2–4, the college assigns either Monday/Wednesday/Friday or Tuesday/Thursday/Saturday attendance. These are stages of the same full-time program, not separate part-time enrollment options.
