The course sequence starts with Introduction to Cosmetology, continues through numbered cosmetology courses and includes capstone work experience. Elective and advanced cosmetology options are also listed.

What you get

Students complete 1,500 hours of cosmetology instruction and are expected to apply for and take Maryland’s cosmetology licensing examination before graduation. The school describes examination eligibility in the senior year of high school.

Students may earn at least four MSDE Career & Technology credits toward graduation. These school credits and program-completer requirements are different from receiving a professional cosmetology license; a separate school-issued cosmetology certificate or diploma is not specified.
