About the program

Mooseheart’s three-year cosmetology pathway is part of its residential high-school education. Students learn hair care, skincare, nail services, makeup, and salon management, with hands-on work in the cosmetology lab.

What you get

The cosmetology pathway prepares students for the Illinois state exam. After students complete 1,500 hours, Mooseheart helps with exam paperwork and covers the exam fee.

Graduates of Mooseheart’s high school also receive an academic diploma. That school qualification is separate from a professional cosmetology license.
