About the program

This 1,500-clock-hour cosmetology program teaches hair, nail and skin care, makeup, braiding and salon business. Training moves through four levels, combining theory—including online study—with demonstrations and practical experience.

What you get

The program prepares you for Alabama’s cosmetology licensing exams. To graduate, you must:

  • Pass the required exams at 70% or higher.
  • Complete the required student services.
  • Pay the applicable fees.

The school provides a completion award and a transcript of training hours. Graduation is separate from obtaining a professional license: graduates must take and pass the state theory and practical exams.

Schedules & start dates

Day and evening routes combine campus instruction with online Canvas study. Evening students also attend two campus Saturdays each month.

New classes generally begin on the first Monday of each month, except July and December; dates can vary. Registration normally closes one week before the start, with late registration available until 72 hours before classes.

TFC financing

Eligibility: Subject to the financing provider’s terms and an individual payment arrangement.

The school describes lower monthly payments during training, with the remaining balance deferred until after graduation. This is financing, not a grant or federal student aid.

In-house installment agreement

Eligibility: Proof of income of at least twice the monthly payment obligation is required; a co-signer may be required if the income threshold is not met.

Installment accounts carry a 12.5% administrative fee. The absence of an annual percentage fee does not make the plan fee-free.

Bank and credit-union financing

Eligibility: Subject to the lender’s credit and repayment requirements.

The school lists local credit unions, banks and loan companies as possible financing sources; approval and terms depend on the lender.

VA education-benefit information

Eligibility: Potential eligibility depends on the individual’s service, survivor or dependent benefits.

The school provides general VA eligibility guidance. Which benefits can be used for this specific program is not confirmed.
