How Delaware oversees cosmetology schools

A private school license and a public high-school career program are different kinds of evidence. Check the route that applies to the program you want, then compare current course details in the school’s own materials.

Private schools have a school-license process

Delaware’s Board of Cosmetology and Barbering says a new private school offering a Board-regulated discipline must apply for a cosmetology/barbering school license. The application also requires a Delaware Department of Education certificate of approval. The license category covers more than cosmetology, so a current school license alone does not establish that a particular campus teaches a full cosmetology program.

Public high-school programs use a different evidence trail

Delaware’s Department of Education oversees career and technical education in public districts. For a high-school cosmetology profile, we look for current district material naming the campus and its cosmetology course. We do not present a district program as holding a separate private cosmetology school license unless an actual license record supports that claim.

Oversight does not answer every enrollment question

Neither a school-license listing nor a district program page necessarily gives you today’s tuition and required supplies, class schedule, next start, financial-aid eligibility, or outcomes. Our profiles separate those facts and leave details unconfirmed when a suitable source is missing.

Check the current source

For a private school, search Delaware’s free real-time license lookup for the exact name, campus address, license type, and status. For a public high-school program, open the district’s current program and admissions pages to compare the course and enrollment route.
